Warm Weather Packaging: What is it? Do I need it?

Areas above 70°F we strongly encourage you to consider Warm Weather Packaging (WWP). Of course, this is not required for cocoa powder, or dry products, but we offer this to ensure you are satisfied with the product you receive. This is an optional add-on at checkout. However, in the warmer (summer) months, we set the default option to ‘yes,’ but it is your choice as a consumer to ‘opt out’ if you are purchasing dry products which will not melt, or if you simply do not want the WWP add-on. In the cooler months, we set the default to ‘no,’ and leave it up to the consumer as to whether or not they need the add-on for their product(s) transit.

World Wide Chocolate is not responsible for melted chocolate in-transit if this option is not selected at checkout.

Tracking information for your order will be provided via email upon processing for shipment.  We strongly recommend that someone be available to receive the order upon delivery whenever possible. Sustained periods in direct sunlight, or closed mailboxes, will cause chocolate to melt.

Product-Specific WWP Use Recommendations:

White Chocolate: Recommended for areas above 70°F (softening point). The melting point of white chocolate is around 83°F-86°F.

Milk Chocolate: Recommended for areas above 72°F (softening point). The melting point of milk chocolate is around 84°F-88°F.

Dark Chocolate: Recommended for areas above 74°F (softening point). The melting point of dark chocolate is around 86°F-90°F.

Cocoa Butter (including Mycryo Powder): Recommended for areas above 70°F. The melting point is around 78°F.

Cocoa Powder does not require Warm Weather Packaging

Please note that chocolate can be melted and re-hardened with not adverse effect on the quality of the product. If your order is received during warm conditions, please allow it to return to room temperature (~62-68 degrees) prior to opening.

Please consider this a general guide help you decide on whether or not you should select this add-on, available when checking out, as we certainly want your product to arrive in good order!
