All the salt used in this chocolate bar is brought from Cahuil, where salt is extracted in the salt mines using the same artisanal techniques used in pre-Hispanic times . In 2011, the Cooperativa Campesina de Salineros Cahuil, Barrancas y la Villa received the Living Human Treasure Recognition for maintaining and developing a sustainable salt cultivation model that is the result of cooperation between humans and nature.
