Made at the Source
Made at the Source chocolate includes finished chocolate products produced at or nearby the area which the cocoa beans are harvested in. Typically cocoa farmers will farm, ferment and dry cocoa beans where the cocoa is grown, but the vast majority of these farmers sell their cocoa beans for export, and they are brought to other countries around the world to produce chocolate with. Chocolate made at the source goes through the entire bean to bar process at the farming location or nearby the cocoa farm. For example, MIA (Made in Africa) Chocolate sources its cocoa in Madagascar and processes the cocoa beans to chocolate on-site in Madagascar; they then sell their finished chocolates globally which were produced in the same location that the beans were farmed in.
