Single Origin Chocolate: Vanuatu Cocoa was introduced to Vanuatu by British and French settlers in the late 19th century, although it was treated primarily as a low-grade bulk commodity until European plantation owners expanded the region’s agricultural trade. Come the early 2000s, Australian and New Zealand craft makers, along with local trade initiatives, saw a large opportunity in revitalizing these old Amelonado genetics, and the region has since shifted to small-farm, high-quality production, particularly used in craft chocolate & bean-to-bar blends.
