El Salvador is a Central American country with high quality but low yield cocoa cultivation. Cocoa was abundant in the country and even used as currency in the pre-colonial era, although production fell drastically after the Spanish Conquest, and El Salvador as of late is putting a great effort into revitalizing the cocoa crop due to the region’s ideal growing climate and sought-out high quality yields.
