Bixby Chocolate is a woman-owned and family-run company established in 2011 by the talented Kate McAleer, who is joined by her mother Donna in the daily operations of the business. The name Bixby comes from Kate’s great-great-grandparents, who hailed from New England and carried the surname Bixby. As Maine’s first bean-to-bar chocolate factory, Bixby Chocolate proudly crafts its delicious products in a historic former ice plant located on the vibrant working waterfront of Rockland, Maine, where the rich history and scenic beauty of the area infuse each bite with a sense of place and passion.
