Single Origin Chocolate: Uganda
Uganda is home to an ideal climate for growing cocoa, as the perennial crop responds well in rainy, tropical areas. The beans also thrive under shade along consistent rainfall, which is abundantly consistent in the growing regions of the country. Ugandan cacao is not typically blended in single-origin blends, more-so a mixed-origin blend, but the typical production of Forastero & Trinitario beans provide quite a unique tasting experience. The cacao production has been on the rise in the past few years, and more chocolate makers are expressing their interest in enhancing the growing oppotunities for the local farmers.

The distinct and rich flavors of Ugandan cacao yield finer flavors on their own, but also meld well with flavor inclusions. The available options are either working in a direct trade format, or through a co-op to ensure farmers are at the forefront of the cultivation process.
